ChErina Dolls

I studied special effects and make-up at prestige academy and it was whilst researching special effects that inspired me to research slipcasting. Hearing of an opportunity via the internet to cast masks, Once I completed my course I worked at a ceramics shop that threw cups, pots and plates, using a potters wheel during the process. I started making doll casts, after a few failures and strong will power to fix and learn.

About seven months later I had an oppotunity to purchase the entire doll making equiptment from a retired doll maker who wished to sell, equipment comprised of; the kiln, moulds, cones, together wit the glazes,brushes an patterns. This very large specialist equiptment was purchased using an inheritance recieved from my grandmother.

The hobby of firing moulds in a domestic oven  with home made clay, made me test other clays which frutrated me. However having now aquired the correct equipment, using tried and tested recipies, has now become my business venture.

My expierence led me to becoming a Fondation Phase teacher -- since 2015. Where I also write children stories and teen books.
